In a bold move to tackle visual impairments among schoolchildren, Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced that over 42,000 pupils and students from public primary and secondary schools in Osun State have received free corrective eyeglasses.
Speaking at a symbolic presentation ceremony in Osogbo, the state capital, Governor Adeleke emphasized that 345,000 pupils and students across the state were screened for eye problems, with thousands receiving corrective glasses, essential medications, and, where necessary, surgical procedures.
“This intervention is aimed at ensuring that our children achieve their dreams without being hindered by vision-related challenges,” Adeleke stated.
