The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has released the first batch of newly recruited teachers and caregivers, marking a significant step in Governor Seyi Makinde’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the state’s education system.
The announcement, made in Ibadan by SUBEB Chairman Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, confirms the recruitment of 5,600 primary school teachers and 80 caregivers.
Dr. Adeniran revealed that the list, officially approved by Governor Makinde, represents the initial phase of the board’s recent hiring process. He encouraged applicants to check their status via the job portal at [jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng](https://www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng), starting Saturday, November 23, 2024. Successful candidates will undergo a verification process at the SUBEB headquarters, with dates and further details to be communicated directly.
Emphasizing the transparency of the process, Adeniran noted, “The recruitment was conducted without political, religious, ethnic, or gender biases. Selections were made solely on merit.” He urged the newly recruited teachers to approach their roles with dedication, adding that their positions come with immense responsibility.
The Chairman assured the public that this is just the beginning, stating, “This group represents the first wave of hires. The recruitment process is ongoing, and we are committed to hiring more qualified candidates to further strengthen the education sector in Oyo State.”
This latest development aligns with Governor Makinde’s agenda to improve access to quality education and enhance early childhood care within the state.
