Prof. Austin Nosike appointed president of AIMTDS, Kigali-Rwanda

The Governing Board of the African Institute of Management, Technology and Development Studies (AIMTDS), Kigali-Rwanda, has officially appointed Nigerian academic, Professor Austin Nosike, as its new President.

His appointment, ratified by the Board through a statement signed by the Secretary, also confirms his inclusion as a Member of the Governing Council.

Prof. Nosike, a highly accomplished scholar and consultant in Public Finance and Business Policy, brings to AIMTDS decades of experience in higher education leadership, research administration, and human capital development across various continents. His new role will see him provide strategic direction for academic growth, resource mobilization, institutional collaboration, and research advancement at AIMTDS.

AIMTDS, originally founded in 1998 as the Development Africa Consortium, is a reputable African-led institute known for its work in academic leadership, evidence-based research, policy formulation, and capacity building. Over the years, it has built a vast global network of scholars, institutions, and development partners dedicated to driving change across the Global South. Through conferences, workshops, training, and joint research projects, AIMTDS has positioned itself as a leading think tank and development hub.

Prof. Nosike’s illustrious academic and professional journey spans multiple countries and institutions. He previously served as Deputy Vice Chancellor–Academics and Research at International University of Equator, Burundi, and held senior roles at Ugandan Pentecostal University, Copperstone University Zambia, University of Kigali (UoK), and Kigali Independent University (ULK). His teaching and research experience also includes engagements with academic institutions in Nigeria, Spain, Italy, and across East Africa.

With a background that began in journalism, human rights advocacy, and public relations, Prof. Nosike has since risen to become a global figure in education and development. His consultancy roles have extended to organizations such as the African Union Commission, UNECA, and various government agencies across Africa and Europe. He has also chaired or contributed to numerous international conferences and advisory panels.

Prof. Nosike holds a BSc from the University of Nigeria, with postgraduate studies completed at institutions in Poland, the UK, Hungary, Spain, Mexico, and Nicaragua. His academic credentials include a PhD in Economics, MSc in Accounting and Finance, and a DBA in Business Administration. He is a Chartered Administrator, a Fellow of multiple policy and quality management institutes, and has supervised several PhD and Master’s research projects.

He is a prolific researcher with over 150 academic publications and a long list of editorial roles in international journals, including Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social and Educational Research and African Journal of Development Studies.

In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. Nosike has received numerous national and international awards, including the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Travel Grant, Central European University Fellowship Award, and West Coast University Research Award.

Married with children, Prof. Nosike is multilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English, and is committed to fostering learning, innovation, and development through inclusive, globally-minded education leadership.

His appointment is seen as a major boost to AIMTDS’s global outlook and its mission to drive knowledge-based solutions to developmental challenges across Africa and beyond.
