The Nanny Academy has officially announced the launch of its Canada Personal Support Worker (PSW) Exchange Program, set to begin today August 4, 2025.
This initiative offers trained and aspiring caregivers from Nigeria and across Africa the opportunity to gain globally recognized skills and hands-on experience in one of the world’s most advanced care systems.
Designed as a 12-month hybrid programme, the exchange combines flexible virtual learning with real-world exposure in Canada.
Participants will begin with eight months of online training, engaging in expert-led modules that cover both foundational and advanced caregiving practices.
The final four months take place in Canada and are split into two phases.
The first phase includes two months of in-class training at St. Paul’s University, Ottawa, delivered by The Nanny Academy’s certified Canadian instructors.
This is followed by a two-month internship at leading Canadian retirement homes, offering practical experience alongside a cultural immersion program to support personal development.
Graduates will receive a credential recognized in Canada’s caregiving and healthcare sectors, including acknowledgment by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The programme is open to trained caregivers, aspiring PSWs, and passionate individuals ready to grow within the global care economy.
Registration is now open. Online classes begin on September 20, 2025, and the Canadian academic and internship phases will take place in Ottawa.
