In a notable policy shift, the University of Ibadan has officially rescinded its work from home initiative, thereby mandating the entirety of its workforce to resume their conventional in-office duties commencing Monday August 28, 2023.

The decision to revert to the traditional office setting was communicated through an official statement by the institution’s Registrar and Secretary to the Council, G.O. Saliu, on Wednesday August 23.

Titled ‘Re: Temporary Work Schedule Adjustment,’ the statement read, “In reference to the earlier communique from the Registrar, dated August 14, 2023, concerning the aforementioned subject matter: Following a meticulous evaluation of the ongoing circumstances, the University’s Administrative Authority has reached the verdict to thoroughly reassess the prevailing work schedule, thus reinstating the status quo that was in place prior to recent alterations.”

The statement continued, “Henceforth, all personnel are enjoined to promptly revert to the standard operating hours, with the stipulated change taking effect from Monday, August 28, 2023.”

Consequently, the university management appeals for the cooperation and understanding of its entire staff, as they anticipate government intervention to alleviate the challenges confronting all parties involved.
