The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria, has garnered widespread commendation from stakeholders for its innovative digital certificate platform.
Amos Dangut, the Head of the National Office (HNO) at WAEC Nigeria, expressed immense satisfaction over the positive reception received not only within Nigeria but also internationally, particularly in other African countries.
Dangut shared his excitement during a press briefing held at WAEC Yaba office on Monday.
At the press conference, Dangut elaborated on the success of WAEC’s digital certificate platform, which has significantly eased the process of result verification, sharing, and confirmation across the education sector.
He emphasised that the platform adheres to global standards, ensuring the security and integrity of candidates’ data.
“The positive feedback from stakeholders, both locally and internationally, underscores the impact and uniqueness of our digital certificate platform,” remarked Dangut.
The purpose of the briefing was to announce the commencement date for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
Dangut highlighted the council’s readiness and emphasised that the examination period would extend over seven weeks and six days.
WAEC remains committed to collaborating with educational institutions and other stakeholders to enhance the examination process and ensure credibility.
“We are fully prepared to conduct the WASSCE for School Candidates 2024 across Nigeria and other member countries,” affirmed Dangut.
