UNICEF Distributes Learning Materials in Adamawa

About 202,817 school children in five local government areas of Adamawa State have received school bags, books and other instructional materials from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The school children received the materials on Tuesday 25th February. They received them during an inaugural distribution ceremony in Yola.

UNICEF Education Consultant in the state, Mr Isaiah Joel, said that 5,070 teachers would also benefit from the intervention in the five LGAs.

“The school materials would go round the LGAs in this initial phase of the project tagged:UNICEF School Supply. All the 21 LGAs in the state would benefit form the project,” he noted.

“We call our package ‘School in a Carton. This is because every carton of our supplies contains materials for teachers. In addition, the materials will serve 40 children in a school term,” Isaiah Joel added.
