She attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts, USA, where she earned a degree in International Relations and Communication. She also holds a master’s degree in Media Studies from The New School for Social Research in New York.
2. Before venturing into music, Onyeka worked as a journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where she gained recognition for her investigative reports, particularly on social issues.
3. Onyeka Onwenu released her debut album, *For the Love of You*, in 1981. The album featured both English and Igbo songs, showcasing her versatility.
4. Onwenu is known for blending traditional African music with contemporary pop. She sings in both English and Igbo, making her music accessible to a wide audience.
5. Some of her popular songs include “One Love,” “Iyogogo,” “You and I,” and “Ekwe.” These tracks have become classics in Nigerian music.
