Four graduates from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Ilorin have been awarded a grant of ₦6 million by the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF).

This grant is part of the foundation’s Graduate Agripreneur Programme, which aims to support and empower young agri-preneurs in Nigeria.

The Graduate Agripreneur Programme is designed to provide financial assistance, skill development, and mentorship to budding agri-preneurs, fostering innovation and sustainability in the country’s agricultural sector.

After a stringent selection process, eight individuals with promising business plans were shortlisted, and four exceptional agripreneurs emerged as the worthy recipients of the grant.

The school management extended heartfelt congratulations to Olakunle Olajire Sheriff, Muhsinah AlMustapha Ibrahim, Oluwadare Ogunmonye, and Anuoluwapo Akinboye, who were awarded ₦1.5 million each.

With this financial support, they are now well-equipped to establish their own farms within the UNILORIN campus.

This remarkable initiative by BATNF highlights their commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders in Nigeria.

By investing in these talented graduates, BATNF is playing a pivotal role in driving positive change and transforming the agricultural landscape of the nation.
