Three students from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), have been selected to participate in a two-week Students’ Exchange Summer School Programme at King’s College, University of London.
The students are Rasheed Aro (400 Level Law), Lukman Awogbemi (300 Level Economics), and Temitope Oladokun (400 Level Nursing), who also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Dietetics.
This opportunity comes shortly after Boluwatife Akinoso, Odafe Angela Okparanyote, and Moyinoluwa Omoyajowo, all 500 Level MBBS students at ABUAD, traveled to the United States for a Clinical posting through a Tripartite Partnership between ABUAD, Little-by-Little Foundation, and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Tunde Olofintila, the Head of Corporate Affairs at ABUAD, revealed that these students are the first beneficiaries of the Afe Babalola African Centre for Transnational Education at King’s College, University of London.
During a presentation of the students to Aare Afe Babalola, the Founder and Chancellor, Vice Chancellor Prof. Elisabeta Olarinde expressed that the three students had excelled in a rigorous screening process.
Aro achieved a perfect score of 100 percent, Oladokun also scored 100 percent, and Awogbemi obtained a score of 87 percent.
Afe Babalola congratulated the students and encouraged them to view their selection for the summer school as the beginning of even greater things. He emphasised that with continued hard work, there would be no limits to their achievements.
Recently, Afe Babalola made a donation of £10 million to King’s College, University of London for the establishment of the Afe Babalola African Centre for Transnational Education (ABACOTE). The primary aim of this center is to provide access to education and opportunities for young Africans who would otherwise be unable to obtain them. The center envisions empowering talented young Africans to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world.
