The students’ arm of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Drug-Free Club, Obafemi Awolowo University has unveiled its plan for the annual “Drug-Free Week”.
The club which is interested in the campaign against drug abuse, misuse and the trafficking of illegal substances will commence its week on Saturday, May 20 and end it on May 27, 2023.
According to the president, Muhyideen Abioye, the reason for the week is to further campaign against drug abuse. He reiterated that the activities of the week will educate students, members of staff of the university community and beyond on why they should stay away from illicit substance abuse. He further said that It will also serve as a way to help those that are already engaged in the act.
“Our drug-free week will help to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse,” Muhyideen explained.
