Morenikeji Adebanjo, a 20-year-old Law graduate, achieved the highest honor at Baze University’s 10th convocation ceremony with a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.81 out of 4.0. She attributed her success to the support of her lecturers, family, and the institution. Adebanjo expressed her commitment to societal contribution through mentorship and utilising law for positive change.
Oseloka Zikora, a Mass Communication student, excelled in the Master’s program with a perfect 5.0 CGPA among 225 candidates. The acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kathleen Okafor, highlighted the university’s growth, expanding academic programs from 72 to 102, including 43 undergraduate courses, 41 post-graduate programmes, and 18 Ph.D. programmes.
The convocation also honored late Justice Mohammed Bello and Mrs. Maryam Babangida with Honorary Doctorates. Prof. Okafor emphasised the importance of women’s participation in economic regeneration, urging graduates to pursue self-development and join professional associations to enhance their digital skills.
Roosevelt Ken-Ebeku, another graduating student, encouraged peers to share the values learned at the institution with society. The Student Union Government President praised the university’s management for diverse social activities, marking the 10th convocation as a significant milestone for Baze University.
