Final year student found dead in Ogun hotel

Adaze Doris Jaja, a final year student at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has reportedly taken her own life in a hotel located in the Ijebu Area of the state. The 31-year-old student was discovered lifeless with an empty bottle of the pesticide, Sniper, beside her. Sources indicate that she was found foaming at the mouth.

Adaze Doris Jaja, a final year student at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has reportedly taken her own life in a hotel located in the Ijebu Area of the state. The 31-year-old student was discovered lifeless with an empty bottle of the pesticide, Sniper, beside her. Sources indicate that she was found foaming at the mouth.

Confirming the distressing occurrence, Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, disclosed that the 31-year-old was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital following the discovery, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead. The incident was formally reported to the Divisional Police Officer of Ago-Iwoye Division on January 27th at approximately 7:30 a.m.

According to Odutola, the Director of Be-Happy Hotel in Ago-Iwoye, Hon. Oduniyi Adelaja, notified authorities of the incident upon receiving information from a staff member of the hotel, Adebayo Israel, who discovered Jaja in an unconscious state with signs of foaming at the mouth at around 6:00 a.m.

The deceased, identified as a 400-level student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, was swiftly attended to and transferred to several medical facilities before being confirmed deceased at Love and Care Hospital in Ago-Iwoye.

Upon investigation, law enforcement officers visited the scene of the incident, where they recovered the empty bottle of Sniper believed to have been used by the deceased. As the investigation unfolds, the body of Adaze Doris Jaja has been transferred to the university mortuary pending an autopsy to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.

The shocking loss of a promising student has cast a somber cloud over Olabisi Onabanjo University and the wider community in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

The circumstances leading to her tragic decision remain under investigation, as authorities and university officials endeavor to comprehend and address the underlying factors that may have contributed to this devastating loss.
