Climate Democracy Accelerator has announced application for a six-month program designed to equip participants with the skills and resources necessary to implement inclusive and participatory climate transition projects.

The CDA focuses on enabling local communities to have a voice in shaping climate policies, thereby addressing global challenges such as agricultural decline, rising sea levels, droughts, forest fires, and flooding.

Benefits:
Selected participants will receive a $10,000 USD grant to implement their projects. Additionally, they will benefit from a dedicated mentor, comprehensive resources such as the Participation Playbook, and access to practice-oriented live sessions and online courses. Outstanding projects developed during the program may also qualify for an additional $20,000 USD award.

Eligibility:

The CDA is open to government officials, staff members, and policymakers looking to initiate participatory climate programs. Government institutions must partner with a civil society organization (CSO) or non-governmental organization (NGO), as the grant is awarded to non-governmental entities. Similarly, CSO staff members and climate advocates must collaborate with a government institution to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

Application process:
Applicants must submit documentation demonstrating their eligibility and the proposed project’s alignment with CDA goals. This includes proof of partnership between government institutions and CSOs, a detailed project proposal, and professional proficiency in English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish for the lead participant. This should be submitted on the official website.

Application deadline: June 27, 2024.
