The Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Okayama Award 2024 is now open for applications, offering a global prize of $3,000.
The ESD Okayama Award is an annual event managed by Okayama City in collaboration with the ESD Okayama Award Steering Board. This board includes organizations dedicated to the promotion of ESD both in Japan and internationally.

The award includes a global prize of $3,000, which will be granted to up to two outstanding projects. This prize is intended to help winning organizations expand their ESD activities, thus amplifying their impact on local and global sustainability efforts.
Eligibility:
Eligibility for the ESD Okayama Award is open to organizations worldwide that are implementing ESD activities in local communities. Only one application per organization is accepted, and projects must have been ongoing for at least two years as of April 2024. Previous winners of the ESD Okayama Award can apply with new projects but cannot submit their past award-winning projects.
Application process:
Interested organizations should review the Application Guide and submit their Application Form along with the required materials via email to esdokayamaaward@city.okayama.lg.jp. This ensures that all submissions meet the guidelines and criteria set by the award organizers.
