Topfaith Schools in Mkpatak, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has awarded a substantial cash prize of N1.5 million to Master Emmanuel Zekhome, the standout performer in the 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).

During a press briefing held in Uyo on Tuesday, Dr. Emmanuel Abraham, Chairman of Topfaith Schools, proudly announced the award. He explained that this initiative was established to foster a culture of academic excellence and demonstrates the school’s unwavering dedication to recognizing and rewarding outstanding student achievements.

Reflecting on the collaborative effort that led to the students’ exceptional performance in this year’s WAEC examinations, Dr. Abraham stated, “Our philosophy is to always aspire to be on top because our faith is top. This is why we are called ‘TOPFAITH’.”

He elaborated on the impressive results, noting that out of 193 candidates presented by the school for the 2024 SSCE, the top 40 students achieved remarkable grades. Among these, three students earned eight ‘A’s each across nine subjects, while nine students scored seven ‘A’s, and another group earned six ‘A’s.

The remaining students secured five ‘A’s, qualifying them for university admission.

Abraham attributed the success to a harmonious collaboration involving teachers, parents, and students. Q

He emphasized that the tradition of awarding this cash prize to top scholars is an ongoing effort by the school’s management to inspire further academic success.

Highlighting the improved results over the previous year, Dr. Abraham noted, “Our students’ performance will set them apart in the university admission process. This is the result of our intentional approach to education, blessed by God, activated by our students, and supported by our teachers.”

He also mentioned the potential impact of the University of Calabar new grading system for JAMB candidates, which could further underscore the achievements of Topfaith students.
