The British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) has announced the opening of applications for its 2024 Farmers for the Future (F4F) Grant.
This initiative, developed in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and implemented by Fate Foundation, is designed to support young agripreneurs with viable agri-business ideas. The program offers an equity-free grant totaling ₦10 million, along with additional resources to help scale their businesses.
Benefits:
The F4F Grant is an agricultural entrepreneurship initiative aimed at empowering young people engaged in sustainable agriculture. The program will award a total of ₦10 million in grants to the top six finalists. The first prize winner will receive ₦3 million, the second prize winner ₦2 million, and the third prize winner ₦1 million. Additional funds will be distributed to other finalists. Besides the financial grant, winners will also gain access to financial institutions, investors, and credit facilities that can further bolster their businesses.
Eligibility:
The grant is specifically targeted at current members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who have viable agribusinesses. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainable agriculture and possess a clear business plan that outlines their vision and strategy for growth. The grant is intended to support businesses that have the potential to significantly impact Nigeria’s agricultural landscape, driving innovation and economic development.
Application process:
The application process for the F4F Grant involves multiple stages. First, interested applicants must submit their applications through the online portal. Twenty selected businesses will then participate in a virtual boot camp, where they will refine their business ideas and prepare pitches. The top 10 businesses from this boot camp will proceed to a pitch event, where they will present their ideas to a panel of expert judges. Three winners will be chosen, receiving financial grants and continued mentorship.
Application deadline: 15th September 2024.
