The Capital City University (CCU) in Kano has officially been granted a full operational license by the National Universities Commission (NUC), allowing it to operate as a private university in Nigeria.

This significant development follows the recent visitation of a panel from the NUC to the university earlier this month.

A statement released by the university’s registrar, Hajiya Rakiya Bello Dangado, revealed that the NUC panel was thoroughly impressed with the quality of facilities and operational procedures at CCU, which commenced its operations in 2021.

The NUC decision to grant a full license replaces the provisional certificate that had been initially issued to the institution.

The statement highlighted the collaborative efforts that led to this achievement, “This outcome is a product of commitment to excellence by the governing council, management, and staff of the institution who have been working collectively to create a niche for the university.”

Situated in the heart of Kano City, Capital City University is dedicated to transforming the educational landscape in Kano, Nigeria, and beyond.

The university is committed to continuously enhancing its infrastructure to address the evolving needs of tertiary education.

“The university… is committed to changing the face of education in Kano, Nigeria, and the entire world by continuously improving its infrastructure to meet the ever-changing tertiary educational needs of society,” the statement emphasized.

In a congratulatory message from the office of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Yusuf Daraja, all stakeholders, particularly the students of the university, were acknowledged for their role in this promising achievement. The Vice Chancellor stated that this milestone comes within just a few years of the university’s operation, marking a significant step forward in its journey.
