The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates will commence on Friday, October 25, 2024.
This marks a significant milestone as the Second Series of the examination is set to run from October 25 to December 20, 2024.
In a statement released on Tuesday, WAEC also revealed an extension of the registration period, which will now close on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. This extension aims to provide more candidates with the opportunity to register for the examination.
“The examination will adopt the hybrid mode of delivering the examination, which implies that the objective questions would be answered on screen, while on-screen essay and practical questions would be answered on the booklets provided,” WAEC stated.
In addition, the Council emphasized the importance of timely registration, urging all candidates to take note of the new deadline. “On this note, the Council wishes to inform all candidates that the registration period has been extended to October 29, 2024.”
