Reach the Peak Initiative (RPI), on October 16, 2024, empowered students at Wesley Primary School and Our Saviour Anglican Primary School in Italawajoda, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, with essential learning resources. The initiative, which is part of the “Raise a Kid” program, aims to enhance educational quality for at least 1,000 children across underserved communities in Nigeria by the end of 2024.

The event began at noon at the school premises with leadership training for the students, focusing on how young learners can develop essential leadership skills by understanding the importance of self-confidence, and goal setting. Each student received free educational materials and stationeries donated by RPI to support their learning journey.

In a press statement, Co-founder at Reach the Peak Initiative, Adeyemi Olalemi emphasized that access to quality education is a fundamental right, not a privilege, noting that the organisation is committed to ensuring every child have access to quality education regardless of their background.

“At RPI, we are passionate about a better future for every child irrespective of their background and we know that quality education and learning experience can unlock their potential for greatness, Adeyemi Olalemi said.

Olalemi added that by providing essential resources that enhance their learning experience, foster love for learning, and support their academic success, children can become agent of great change.

Ibrahim Onaneye, a Coach at Teach for Nigeria working at the schools, praised RPI’s commitment to advancing education for underserved students, noting the resources’ significant impact in sparking excitement and renewed passion for learning.

“As a teacher coach, I have seen firsthand how such gestures go beyond the material—they empower these children to dream bigger, work harder, and believe in their potential.

“RPI’s commitment to advancing quality education for underserved students is truly inspiring and serves as a beacon of hope for many children whose prospects are greatly enhanced through such impactful interventions, he said.

Since its founding in 2019, RPI has been dedicated to empowering young people in underserved communities by alleviating poverty, improving health, and providing transformative information to foster change agents.
