In a bid to promote quality education and academic excellence, Senator Shuaib Salisu, representing Ogun Central in the Senate, has provided educational materials to over 1,000 students across secondary schools in the district.
At the empowerment event held in Abeokuta, the lawmaker emphasized the importance of lasting educational support, stating that the initiative aimed to encourage students to focus on their studies and excel academically.
The distributed materials included school bags, mathematical sets, exercise books, textbooks, and past question books.
“I strongly believe that true empowerment is one that has a lasting impact. That is why we also procured over 1,000 JAMB forms for candidates last year and paid for NECO and WAEC registration fees,” Salisu stated.
He further urged students to remain committed to their education and not see public schooling as a disadvantage. He encouraged them to build meaningful networks that could benefit their future.
Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Abayomi Arigbabu, commended the senator’s efforts, stressing the need for giving back to society. Similarly, Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, advised the students to make the best use of the materials and strive for excellence.
This initiative is part of Senator Salisu’s broader commitment to empowering young minds and fostering a brighter future for Ogun State.
