The former minsister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has been reappointed into office.
This was revealed on Wednesday, 21st August when President Muhammadu Buhari swore-in his cabinet members to ensure effective running of his administration.
As ministers received their portfolios, Malam Adamu Adamu returned as the nation’s Minister of Education.
In November 2015, Malam Adamu Adamu received the baton from Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, stepping into the track as Nigeria’s 46th Minister of Education since independence in 1960. And it is believed that his reappointment back in the education ministry would enable him to complete the tremendous work he started.
It would be recalled that part of the achievement of his last administration was the injection of about N1.3 trillion into the education sector.
Another groundbreaking achievement of Adamu’s administration was the UBEC interventions, which recorded a total of N350 billion, while TETFund and NEEDS Assessment interventions recorded N857 billion with the main ministry and other agencies recording N86 billion totaling N1.3 trillion, aside from the N25 billion approved for public universities.
