The Lagos State House of Assembly has rejected 17 out of the 39 commissioner-nominees submitted to it by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
According to reports, the list had generated controversies including protests by religious and political groups over alleged marginalisation and lop-sidedness.
The confirmation process was administered through a vocal endorsement as the Speaker Mudashiru Obasa introduced each nominee’s name to the floor.
On the flip side, the legislative body withheld its endorsement for 17 of the nominees, indicating a measured and thorough examination of their qualifications.
