In a bid to ensure a seamless and secure resumption of students for the first term of the 2023/2024 academic session, Anike Adekanye, the tutor-general/permanent secretary of education district II, has embarked on a visit to various schools within the district.
This visit was not only aimed at assessing the readiness of the educational institutions but also served as a beacon of hope and motivation for educators and students alike.
During her visit, Adekanye emphasised the vital role of education in the development of Lagos State and expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his unwavering commitment to the educational sector.
She commended the Lagos State government for its tremendous efforts in ensuring the timely resumption of students across the state.
Recognising the pivotal role of parents in their children’s education, Adekanye called upon all parents and guardians to promptly send their children back to school and provide them with unwavering support throughout the academic year.
Addressing the students directly, she urged them to seize the opportunities presented by the new academic session and to strive for excellence in their studies.
She emphasised that success is attainable through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to learning.
Among the schools visited by Adekanye were Maryland Comprehensive High School and Immaculate Heart Comprehensive High School, both located in Maryland, Lagos.
