Fifty-seven teams from nine Nigerian universities have entered the CGMA Business Leader Challenge 2024, a regional business competition aimed at undergraduates organised by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants and Chartered Global Management Accountants, together with the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
The event is sponsored by Coronation Merchant Bank and Stanbic IBTC Bank.
According to a statement, the teams will be asked to solve real-life business challenges and present them to a panel of senior executives in finance and business management.
According to the organisers, the CGMA Business Leader Challenge provides young Nigerian talent with an opportunity to enhance their business, leadership, and problem-solving skills and showcase their potential as future accounting, finance, digital, and business leaders.
The Associate Director in Nigeria at AICPA & CIMA, Ijeoma Anadozie, said, “At AICPA and CIMA, we are dedicated to nurturing and empowering up-and-coming finance, accounting, and business professionals, so we are thrilled to host the second edition of the CGMA Business Leader Challenge in Nigeria. Last year’s competition was a resounding success, with 30 teams competing for victory.
“We expect the same enthusiasm from this year’s cohort as they put their skills to the test and learn the crucial values of teamwork, communication, and strong leadership.”
