Airtel Nigeria has partnered an Educational Technology company, Dynamiss, to subsidize data and mobile Internet for students and schools.
According to Airtel, the partnership is aimed at ensuring data access for educational purposes on any of the platforms provided by Dynamiss.
While disclosing this on Wednesday July 29, 2020, Airtel stated that internet data would be subsidized and made more affordable for schools and young Nigerians.
Students who access the Dynamiss platforms will enjoy up to 50 percent discount on data/mobile Internet charges.
This discount also applies to schools, students and even parents on the Airtel network who use any of the educational platforms provided by Dynamiss.
COO of Dynamiss, Valerie Sodeinde, said the discounted data from Airtel was a key game changer for the adoption of Online/Digital education by most schools in Nigeria.
“What Airtel is demonstrating with this particular initiative is a commitment to support education despite the unrelenting threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As many more schools have now developed an appreciation for an online educational system, parents, teachers and schools will most certainly benefit from this very affordable data plan.
“This decisive initiative by Airtel is a positive response that will be welcome by educators and students alike,” Sodeinde said.
Dynamiss, a Microsoft Partner Organisation, is one of the nation’s foremost Educational Technology companies and is currently providing Learning Management Systems (LMS), Virtual Robotics, Virtual Laboratories, Secure Examination Portals and Certified Online Training for Teachers on Digital Education Tools, for a variety of schools across the nation.
Edu data does not make any sense to me because you didn’t clarify it when one is getting data and in the long run it’s not useful,I did data of over ₦2000 and realised it’s edu data and not working.
How would you separate a student from every other person because I don’t think your purpose would be achieved.
You need to be specific and just throw a dummy at people. Anyone who wants to procure data would think it like the normal data. This is a questionable act.
