Anani former ‘Maltina Teacher of the Year’ wins $10, 000 grant

In a recent showcase event hosted by the Muhammad Sanusi II Sustainable Development Goals (MSII SDG) Initiative, Oluwabunmi Anani, winner of the 2020 Maltina Teacher of the Year, has emerged as a winner yet again. Her project, ‘Quality Education for All’, received a $10,000 grant to scale up its impact in sub-Saharan Africa.

The showcase featured 25 innovative projects from eight African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and The Gambia. Anani’s project was recognised as one of the most promising and impactful initiatives to overcome education challenges in the region.

Anani’s project, ‘Quality Education for All’, aims to provide access to quality education for disadvantaged children in sub-Saharan Africa. The project focuses on improving teacher training, developing innovative teaching methods, and providing resources and support to schools in rural areas.

Anani’s innovative approach and dedication to improving education in the region have earned her several accolades and awards, including the prestigious Maltina Teacher of the Year award in 2020. Her latest win at the MSII SDG Initiative challenge is yet another testament to her commitment to making a difference in the lives of children in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Anani expressed her gratitude for the grant, saying, “I am thrilled to receive this grant, which will enable me to expand the reach and impact of ‘Quality Education for All’. With this grant, we can provide more resources and support to schools in rural areas, improve teacher training, and develop innovative teaching methods that will enable disadvantaged children to access quality education.”

The MSII SDG Initiative is a nonprofit organisation that aims to promote sustainable development in Africa by supporting innovative projects that address critical development challenges. The Cohort 2 SDG Challenge Showcase featured a diverse range of projects that focused on a variety of development issues, including education, healthcare, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.
