The British Council’s Architecture, Design, and Fashion team has launched the British Council Grants 2024, providing financial support of up to £5,000 for biennales and festivals in the UK and abroad. Applications are now open, with a deadline of June 23, 2024.
The grants are intended to encourage collaboration between UK designers and international platforms, enabling British designers to showcase their work at events outside the UK and supporting UK-based events to feature international talent. Since 2016, these grants have facilitated presentations at over ten international biennales and festivals, highlighting the British Council’s commitment to global cultural exchange.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, UK-based biennales and festivals must showcase the work of international designers, while international events must feature UK-based designers. The grants are not intended for research and development but are designed to cover costs related to participation, such as travel, production, and other miscellaneous expenses associated with presentations, collaborations, and exhibitions.

Applicants must provide detailed information about their event, including the selected designers, planned activities, and audience engagement strategies.
