The 2014 Conference of the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB) will begin on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Orchid Hotels & Events Centre, Km 21, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.
The 3-day event is the first C.I.B. Conference to hold in the West African sub-region since the formation of the Council in 1953. The University of Lagos, Akoka and Herriot Watt University Edinburgh, United Kingdom have the joint hosting right for the 2014 and 2015 Conferences of the Council. The 2015 Conference will hold in Edinburgh in the UK.
With the theme: Construction in Developing Countries and its Contribution to Sustainable Development, the Conference will feature:
- exhibition of construction – related materials, components, technologies and other products/services;
- parallel sessions involving over 100 peer-reviewed papers on different issues relating to sustainable development; and
- keynote speeches by seasoned researchers, industry practitioners and policy makers including:
