The Vice-Chancellor, Crawford University, Prof. Reuben Kolo, has charged newly admitted students of the university to be solution providers to societal challenges.
Kolo, who gave the charge at the 20th matriculation ceremony of the institution, advised the students to take control of their academic journey, emphasising that their success depend on personal commitment and discipline.
He added that the training received at the institution will not only equip the students academically but also shape their moral and spiritual lives.
The newly admitted students include 563 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) students, 334 from School of Part Time Studies (SPTS), and 91 postgraduate students.
They will pursue degrees in the College of Business and Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences; Arts and Communication Studies; SPTS and the postgraduate school.
Kolo urged the students to always remember that their actions and attitudes to learning, would determine their success in the next few years of their academic journey.
As a faith-based institution, Kolo said the institution places a strong emphasis on moral and spiritual values.
The vice-chancellor encouraged students to uphold high moral standards and actively participate in university chapel programmes designed to support their spiritual growth.
He also advised students to shun social vices, and indecent dressing, emphasising that the school has zero tolerance for misconduct.
“Please be mindful of the company you keep, focus on your studies, and always present yourself decently,” he advised.
