In a determined effort to promote transparency and uphold uniform standards across federal schools, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, made an unannounced inspection at Queens College, Yaba, Lagos, on Monday, December 2.

Sharing a video of the surprise visit on his official X handle, Dr. Alausa remarked: “I’m currently at Queens College conducting an unannounced inspection. Our goal is to ensure that all of our federal schools and unity colleges are operating transparently and maintaining equitable standards for all students.”

The inspection allowed the Minister to engage with staff, tour the school’s facilities, and evaluate its adherence to federal educational guidelines.

The visit was also aimed at identifying potential challenges faced by the school and ensuring that no student is left behind in the pursuit of quality education.

Alausa’s initiative is part of a larger mission to revitalize federal educational institutions and build a system rooted in accountability and excellence. By making surprise visits, the minister is sending a clear message about the government’s resolve to maintain high operational standards in schools nationwide.

This proactive approach reinforces the federal government’s commitment to creating equitable learning opportunities for all students, regardless of location or socioeconomic background.

Alausa’s actions resonate as a call for continuous improvement and a reminder of the critical role education plays in shaping Nigeria’s future.
