The General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has stated that the education system should make up for both spiritual and mental knowledge for the learners.
Addressing participants at the unveiling of the renovated/remodelled UNILAG Senate House Basement on Monday, which he financed, Olukoya stressed that spiritual and mental knowledge would enable students to fit into any environment they find themselves.
“People should seek righteousness because righteousness exalts a nation; they should be hardworking. Education should not just be physical but should be spiritual and mental so that students can cope in any environment they find themselves,” he said.
He also called on the Federal Government to create more awareness on coronavirus, adding that some people did not believe COVID-19 existed.
“I think the first thing is to convince the populace that it is real because some people don’t believe it exists. But I am a man of God and I know that it exists, so we should not joke with it. People should obey all the rules, protocols and most importantly we should pray that this pandemic will be wiped off. This is strange to us in microbiology,” Olukoya said.
Reacting to the goodwill of the clergyman to UNILAG, Vice-chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe said, the renovated/remodelled UNILAG Senate House Basement would change the ambience of the senate building.
“I want to appreciate my Father-in-the-Lord, Dr. Olukoya, because the building is the signature of the University of Lagos. Anywhere you get to, anywhere in the world they see the signature and this improvement will make our signature to be more appreciated,” Ogundipe said
Ogundipe encouraged students of the university to anticipate news regarding resumption in three weeks.
“We like following due process, we cannot announce resumption without having a senate meeting. So, we are going to have a senate meeting soon. We have come up with a proposal which we are going to take to the senate meeting for approval,” he informed.
