After two days of demonstrations across the country, protesters have again gathered in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun State, as they continue to push for their demands.

The demonstrations, which began on August 1 in several cities, are to draw attention to the challenges facing Nigerians, with inflation figures reaching 34 percent, making the cost of basic items beyond the reach of millions of households.

Although authorities, including religious bodies and leaders, had appealed to the demonstrators to shelve their protests after two days.

A Human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, has also demanded the immediate suspension of the ongoing nationwide protests against bad governance in Nigeria.

Adegboruwa, representing the Take It Back Movement, a key organizer of the protests, conveyed this message in a statement released on Friday.

However, amid the plea, scores of youths hit the streets in Osogbo to continue their protest.

They matched through various streets, including Nelson Mandela Park, Old Garage, Dada Estate, Dele-Yss-Sir Roundabout, and Oke-Fia, among others.

While singing solidarity songs, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the policies of the federal and state governments.
