The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has led the management team of the institution to pay a visit to Senator Smart Adeyemi at his office in the National Assembly.

This was primarily to express the university’s gratitude for Adeyemi’s significant contributions towards the passage of a bill that aims to upgrade the Federal Medical Centre Lokoja to a Federal Teaching Hospital.

Adeyemi’s unwavering commitment and advocacy for the upgrade of the medical centre have been recognised and appreciated by the university management team. His remarkable efforts played a pivotal role in the successful passage of the bill, which was recently approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The visit was equally as an opportunity for the university management team to commend Adeyemi’s notable contributions towards the development of the medical and educational sectors in Kogi State. The upgraded medical centre is expected to provide world-class medical education and training to students and healthcare professionals, as well as improved healthcare services to the people of the region.

In response, the senator expressed gratitude for the recognition from the university’s management team. He stated that his passion for making a positive impact on the lives of people in the region was his driving force and promised to continue supporting initiatives that promote quality education and healthcare delivery.

The excellent working relationship between the senator and the Federal University Lokoja is expected to continue to yield positive results for the benefit of the people of Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.
