The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has donated four Single-Crank Emergency Beds to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abeokuta.
This generous contribution aims to enhance the hospital’s capacity to manage emergency cases effectively.
The donation was officially presented by Dr. Oluseyi Anjorin, the Acting Director of the University’s Health Services, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde.
Speaking about the initiative, Anjorin stated, “The donation was a token of appreciation for the prompt medical attention FMC Abeokuta provides to FUNAAB students and staff.”
He further emphasized that the gesture would enable the hospital to admit more emergency patients and continue delivering quality care to the university community.
Receiving the emergency beds on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adewale Olomu, Dr Adekunle Ashimi, the Chief Medical Officer of the Accident and Emergency Unit, expressed gratitude for FUNAAB’s timely support.
He remarked, “This donation will significantly improve the availability of equipment in the hospital,” highlighting the positive impact on emergency care services.
This donation is part of FUNAAB’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at strengthening the healthcare sector in Ogun State. By enhancing the resources available at FMC Abeokuta, FUNAAB not only reinforces its commitment to the health and well-being of its students and staff but also contributes to the overall improvement of healthcare services in the region.
