The 30th convocation ceremonies of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), are commencing this week with a series of distinguished events.
On Friday, August 4, 2023, at 1 p.m., the ceremonies will begin with a Jumat Service held at the University Mosque.
Continuing on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., an Interdenominational Church Service will take place at the University Chapel to mark the significance of the occasion.
A statement signed by the Registrar, Bola Adekola, further informed that convocation press conference is scheduled for Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10 a.m.
“This will be followed by the inauguration of various projects on campus starting from 11 a.m.” Adekola said.
The main event of the week will be the Convocation Ceremony and Award of First Degrees to deserving graduands of the University, held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building.
Moreover, the convocation will feature a thought-provoking convocation lecture, delivered by former Minister for Education and former Vice-President of the World Bank (Africa Region), Oby Ezekwesili.
This lecture will take place at 10 a.m. at the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building, alongside the Convocation Ceremony for the Award of Higher Degrees.
Following the convocation lecture, guests will be treated to a convocation luncheon at the International Scholars’ and Resource Centre (IS&RC) at 1 p.m., providing an opportunity for celebration and networking.
