Chief Executive Officer of Postagvest Solutions Ltd, Dr Olajumoke Ekundayo, has announced a new partnership with Peace and Joy Group of Schools in Ikere Ekiti aimed at equipping students with farming skills and agricultural business principles.

The collaboration, part of Postagvest’s Raise a Farmer Initiative, was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding and focuses on igniting students’ interest in agriculture.

In a statement released by Postagvest’s Chief Operating Officer, Mayowa Ekundayo,   said that the partnership aimed to enrich students’ educational experiences and prepare them for careers in agriculture and agribusiness.
The program introduces the RAFI School Club, which will offer practical training in vegetable production and agribusiness to students.

“This partnership represents a significant advancement in our mission to cultivate the next generation of agribusiness leaders,” said Dr. Ekundayo. “Through the RAFI School Club, we’re not only imparting valuable skills but also instilling a deep appreciation for sustainable agricultural practices that will benefit students and their communities.”

The MoU outlines that RAFI will support the club with training sessions led by professionals, mentorship, monitoring, and the establishment of a practical learning plot equipped with modern agricultural tools. In turn, the school will promote the club, ensure active student participation, and provide the necessary infrastructure for the program’s success.

Ekundayo also noted a unique feature of the program: Postagvest Solutions Ltd would purchase 80 per cent of the harvested produce at market prices, offering students real-world experience in agricultural commerce.

Director of Peace and Joy Group of Schools, Olaoluwa Adebiyi, praised the partnership, stating, “The RAFI School Club aligns perfectly with our vision of delivering a holistic education that prepares students for life beyond examinations. We are eager to witness the impact this initiative will have on our students and the community.”

The school club initiative, designed to showcase the transformative potential of combining agriculture with education and innovation, is expected to serve as a model for similar programs across Nigeria.
