The rescued Kuriga Students have been united with their families at a reception at Katuru Road in the State Capital, by the Kaduna State Government.

Governor Uba Sani, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdulkadir Meyere, conveyed the government’s unwavering commitment to the education and well-being of the liberated pupils. He assured the assembled families of the administration’s resolve to see the students through their academic journey, extending his plea for continued prayers for the safety of the children.
Expressions of gratitude echoed throughout the event, with representatives from the Kuriga community commending the tireless efforts of Governor Uba Sani in securing the release of the abducted students. Special recognition was also extended to key figures including President Bola Tinubu, NSA Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Musa, and other service chiefs for their instrumental roles in facilitating the students’ freedom.
The sentiment of joy and relief was palpable as the Commissioner for Social Welfare, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, conveyed her elation over the successful release of the pupils. Plans were revealed for a potential visit to the Aso Rock Villa, underscoring the significance of the momentous occasion.
Representatives from the rescued students expressed profound gratitude for the concerted efforts of government officials and security personnel. Suleman Lawal, speaking on behalf of the male students, and Aisha Muhammad, representing the female students, highlighted the invaluable support and fatherly guidance extended by the authorities throughout the ordeal.
The formal handover of the 137 students to their families marked the culmination of a meticulous psycho-social process, ensuring the well-being of the victims prior to their reunion. As a gesture of hospitality and solidarity, the students were treated to a special Ramadan dinner at the Government House in Kaduna, underscoring the collective relief and joy surrounding their safe return.
The dignified ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials including the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Malam Sani Liman Kila, as well as commissioners of Internal Security and Human Services, Samuel Aruwan, and Hajiya Rabi Salisu, among others, symbolizing the unified commitment of the government to the welfare of its citizens.
