The Chairperson of the committee, Mrs Lai koiki, stated that “This year’s event is very special because of the peculiarities of the global challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“The pandemic challenged the CAN-DO spirit, resilience and creativity of teachers and leaders as they tried to minimize the learning loss in their students, and that’s part of what makes this year’s award special”

“Education is the bedrock of development in any society, and the Lagos state government has made a huge investment in education especially leveraging on technology and providing an enabling environment for learning,” she stated.

She applauded the ministry of education under the leadership Mrs Folashade Adefisayo who has continued to be a trailblazer.

According to Mrs Funke Fowler-Amba, a member of the committee, teachers are unique and they must be celebrated for all the great things they have done.
