The Welfare Director of the Lagos State University Students’ Union has embarked on a diplomatic mission by paying a courtesy visit to CSP Ajao Oluwasegun, Head of Commandant at PPL Police Station.

The engagement, unveiled on the LASUSU NEWS ROOM platform on January 29, 2024, marks a pivotal moment in the collaborative efforts between the student body and law enforcement within the university precincts.

During the visit, CSP Ajao Oluwasegun expressed appreciation for the students’ union’s initiative in establishing a harmonious relationship with the security unit. Recognising the importance of a symbiotic connection, he affirmed his commitment to swiftly address any security challenges that may arise within the university community.

In an encouraging gesture, the commandant assured the students of his responsiveness during times of security difficulties and extended an invitation to contact him directly. This move reflects his dedication to promoting an open line of communication between the security apparatus and the student body.

Importantly, CSP Ajao Oluwasegun emphasised his overarching goal as a graduate of Lagos State University: to create and maintain a conducive academic environment that is resilient against security threats. This aligns with the broader mission of ensuring the safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff within the university.
The collaborative spirit demonstrated during this visit signifies a positive step forward in fortifying the relationship between the academic community and law enforcement.

It underlines our shared commitment to cultivating an environment where education can flourish without compromising on security. As both parties work hand in hand, the prospect of a safer and more secure Lagos State University becomes increasingly tangible.
