The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) on Tuesday, 22nd December 2020, commissioned a block of six classrooms with toilets, staff room, head teacher’s office, and some other utility items at Abejoye Community Primary School around the Dangote Oil Refinery Company.

Director of Projects Department, Mrs. Ebaide Omokore, who represented LASUBEB Chairman, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, at the event, appreciated Dangote Group for funding the project.

She reiterated the commitment of the state government to all-inclusive, quality basic education in a conducive environment.

Omokore applauded the Dangote Company for providing the facilities to promote positive learning outcomes.

She added that the Board is also carrying out infrastructure upgrade and renovation in many parts of the State, especially within hard-to-reach communities.

She revealed that there is an ongoing partnership with relevant stakeholders to digitalise public primary school education through the Ekoexcel initiative and charged the management of Abejoye Community to take ownership of the school for proper maintenance of the facilities for the benefit of pupils.

Also speaking at the event, Group Executive Director, Dangote Group, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, affirmed that the Company will continue to support the Lagos State Government to continually improve the education sector.

“With the continuous support of the people and the Lagos State Government, we shall not relent in our efforts to be socially accountable while we positively impact our host communities,” Edwin said.
