The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Prof Olanrewaju Olaniyan, has ended his tenure as a governing council member-at-large at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
A statement by the Media and Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Wale Adeoye, held that Olaniyan on Monday ended his four-year tenure as LAUTECH governing council member.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State had on August 9, 2023 appointed Olaniyan as the Vice-Chancellor of Emmanuel Alayande University, while he was still in service as council member-at-large of LAUTECH.
Olaniyan, in a message released after the valedictory meeting of the LAUTECH governing council on Monday, expressed his appreciation to Governor Makinde for the opportunity granted him.
The message reads, “Glory be to God Almighty as I completed my tenure as a member of the LAUTECH Governing Council (01 April 2021 – 31 March 2025).
“My sincere appreciation goes to the Visitor to the University and Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, for appointing me to the Council.
“I also thank all members of the Governing Council led by Prof Deji Omole for their hard work, for bringing peace to the campus and ensuring the all-around development of the institution during our tenure.
“The tenure marked the establishment and commencement of activities at the Iseyin campus of the University. I also appreciate all members of the Council for the camaraderie and the love we shared. I will always remember the togetherness.”
Olaniyan had previously served as Chairman, Governing Council, Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate; former Director, University of Ibadan Centre for Sustainable Development, 2016 – 2021; and former Dean, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, among others.
