The Rector of Redeemer’s College of Technology and Management, Dr Stella Mofunanya, has encouraged Redeemer’s International Leadership Academy graduands to embrace technology in their leadership role if they aspire to make significant achievements in their future endeavours.

She stated this during a lecture, titled “Creativity and Innovation in Transforming Christian Ministry in Contemporary Society”, delivered at the valedictory service of the Redeemer’s International Leadership Academy, recently in Lagos.

RECTEM disclosed that a total of 135 students graduated, including 11 from master’s programmes, 105 at PGD level, three diplomas, and 16 certificate holders.

She noted that the academy had trained and graduated five thousand graduates, some of whom had demonstrated their leadership skills in various spheres of life; including politics, ministry, and the corporate world.

Stressing how innovation and technology are incredibly shaping human activities, Mofuanya maintained that not much would be accomplished in ministry and business if innovation is not adopted.

She added, “Creativity and innovation are vital for transforming Christian ministry in contemporary society. By embracing technology, revitalising worship, engaging communities, and enhancing discipleship, the church can more effectively fulfil its mission.

“As you step forward, I encourage you to remain bold, creative, and innovative, and to let the boundless creativity of our Creator guide you.”

The RECTEM rector stated that innovative solutions to community problems, such as mobile health clinics or educational workshops, could significantly improve the quality of life for those served.

Effective ministry extends beyond the church walls, impacting the broader community through service and advocacy. Community service projects that address local needs, such as poverty eradication, education, and healthcare, exemplify Christ’s love in action,” she added.

The General Overseer, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, represented by the Assistant Continental Overseer, Research and Development, Josiah Bolarinwa, charged the graduands to take what they had learnt anywhere they found themselves so that they could pass on the good legacy of the Christian faith that they had imbibed.

Adeboye noted that every leader must offer solutions.

“Like Maxwell said, everything starts and ends at the table of a leader. The leadership position is very, very vital. If there is any problem we have in our country, in particular in Africa in general, it is leadership.

“Give me a good leader, and I will tell you that the organisation will be very good. Leadership is very, very important, very, very vital. It gives a sense of direction to the followers. So how do we get it right? Since we know we have this challenge,” he added.

Also, the Rector of RILA, Pastor Banky Ladile, said the three-decade-old academy was established to train and produce leaders suitable for leadership responsibility in every sphere of life.

“Our objective is to transform leaders. It is a training institution where people come to discover themselves, who they are ordained by God to be, and, at the same time, transform themselves and transform others in different spheres of life.”

“In those areas, wherever we are, everybody needs to train on leadership. Wherever you find yourself, you must be making an impact and transforming others. That is our goal,” Ladile added.
