Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved new appointments to the governing councils of three key tertiary institutions in the state, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to strengthening higher education governance.
In a statement signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, Professor Ayodeji Omole has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH). Other appointed members of the council include Mrs. Titilayomi Ahmadu, Mr. Idowu Olukunle Adeosun, Mr. Jelili Bamidele Busari, and Dr. Teslim Adediran. Their tenure will take effect from April 1, 2025.
Additionally, Dr. Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, the immediate past Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Nigeria, has been named as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the newly established Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan. Other appointed members include Hon. Seyi Joseph Adisa, Prof. Samson Olakunle Ojoawo, Dr. Aminat Adekemi Ahmed, and Prof. Mojeed Kolawole Akinsola. Their appointments take effect immediately.
In a similar move, Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa. He takes over from the late Professor Abiodun Adebowale Ojo, who passed away last year. His appointment is effective immediately.
The appointments are part of Governor Makinde’s ongoing efforts to strengthen tertiary education in Oyo State, ensuring that institutions are led by experienced professionals capable of driving academic excellence and institutional development.
