The National Universities Commission has granted approval for Maranatha University Lagos to run seven new programs: Nursing, Public Health, Health Information Management, Physiotherapy, Law, English, and History and International Relations.
According to the statement released by the Management of the University, English and History will be domiciled in Okota campus of the University, while the other five will constitute the pioneer programmes of the Lekki campus.
The university now has a total of 27 NUC approved courses.
The statement read, “Maranatha University Lagos is a fast-growing faith-based metropolitan university.
“Its motto is , and Integrity. The mission of the university is to provide innovative academic programmes that will equip the students with knowledge and skills for service to the nation and mankind.”
The Vice-Chancellor, MUL, Prof. Rufus Akinyele, remarked, “The NUC approval, which brings the number of Faculties in the University to six, is significant in the history of the evolution of the University. First, the spread of the academic disciplines aligns with the institution’s vision to make significant contributions in diverse areas of study. Second, it is a fulfillment of the management’s desire to commence academic activities at the Lekki campus as soon as practicable. Third, the development is a milestone in the foundation stage of the university, from which the institution can confidently progress into the era of consolidation.”
