Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim is a Nigerian politician and human right activist. Born in Plateau State, Iman hails from Keffi in Nasarawa State and was raised in Abuja where she attended Aruwa Nursery School and Jabi Primary School. She has always been a lover of education and at 21, she has acquired two Master’s Degrees —an MA in Management and an MBA from Webster University, UK after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology at the University Of Abuja. She did her mandatory National Youth Service Corps at NNPC, Kaduna zonal office.
Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim started her career working at Abuja Geographic Information Systems, AGIS, before moving to the United Kingdom where she worked in human resource, Business and Management before becoming a certified [SAP] HCM consultant. While in the United Kingdom, she worked as senior sales director at Mary Kay Cosmetics, UK
When she moved back to Nigeria, she was appointed a member of the Nasarawa State Economic Advisory Council in 2019 and also served as a special adviser on Strategic Communication to the former minister of Education.
She previously served as the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). In May 2021 she was redeployed as the Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons.
In 2023, she became Nigeria’s first female Minister of State, Police Affairs, a position she held until 2024 when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on October 23, 2024, reshuffled the cabinet reshuffle and appointed her as the Minister of Women Affairs.
