The MTN Foundation has stated its resolve to develop musical talent for student in Nigeria with its 2024 Musical Society of Nigeria Scholarship Programme.

In a statement on Tuesday, MTN Foundation said its MTN-MUSON Scholarship Programme was designed to help aspiring young Nigerian musicians overcome the challenges on their path.

“The music industry is brimming with creative and ambitious talents, yet many aspiring Nigerian musicians face uncertainty on their path to success. This MTN-MUSON Scholarship Programme is designed to change that,” the foundation stated.

According to the MTN Foundation, the initiative prepares young talents for the national and global stage.

The foundation noted that its partnership with MUSON would offer a comprehensive experience, aimed at nurturing the next generation of musical talent in Nigeria.

It added that the MTN-MUSON Scholarship Programme would allow scholars in the programme to receive world-class training that would hone their musical skills, enhance their understanding of the music business, and deepen their appreciation for the arts.

It stated that beyond its coverage of students’ full tuition, the programme would build stage confidence and showcase talent through live performances.

“These learning experiences have been proven to help musical talents looking to thrive in the music industry,” the foundation noted.

The MTN Foundation disclosed that over 484 alumni had benefited from the scholarship programme and gone on to become influential figures in the music industry, both locally and internationally.

It called on young Nigerian musicians with talent and a passion for success to enrol in the programme to take advantage of the opportunity to refine their talent, network with other young and talented musicians and build a solid foundation for their successful musical careers.

The foundation stated that it had invested about N29.4bn in 1,052 projects across the country since 2004 when it was established.
