In a recent announcement, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) acknowledged the concerns and anxieties expressed by Corps Members regarding the delay in the payment of their June 2023 monthly allowance. The management of NYSC has come forward to clarify the situation and assure Corps Members that the delay is a result of bank administration issues and not a lack of preparation on the part of the Scheme.
According to the NYSC, all necessary arrangements for the payment of Corps Members’ allowance for the month of June were completed on June 27, 2023. The remittances to various banks were made on the same day as scheduled. However, the delay in disbursing the funds to Corps Members’ accounts has been caused by the processing procedures carried out by the individual banks.
To address this issue promptly, the NYSC management is actively engaging with the banks involved to expedite the crediting of Corps Members’ accounts with their June allowances. The Scheme reassures Corps Members that their welfare remains a top priority, and all efforts are being made to resolve this matter without any further delay.
In light of this development, the NYSC urges Corps Members to remain calm, law-abiding, and dedicated to their respective places of national service. The NYSC management acknowledges the patience and understanding displayed by Corps Members during this challenging period.
The NYSC management, represented by Eddy Megwa fnipr, the Director of Press and Public Relations, expresses gratitude to Corps Members for their cooperation and reiterates its commitment to addressing any welfare-related issues promptly and effectively.
As the NYSC continues its efforts to ensure the timely disbursement of the June monthly allowance, Corps Members are advised to stay updated through official channels and remain confident that their concerns are being actively addressed.
The NYSC management assures Corps Members that the necessary measures are being taken to prevent similar delays in the future and emphasizes its dedication to providing a conducive environment for all Corps Members throughout their service year.
