The Group Managing Director, VDT Communications Limited, Biodun Omoniyi, has presented a 2.5 million naira-worth scholarship to the overall best student in West African Senior School Certificate Examination, Ondo State, Joy Omoyeni.
A statement by VDT Communication said Omoyeni who clinched the best WASSCE result was the best graduating student at Telnet International School, Akure, Ondo State.
It added that she had been described as an academic trailblazer and beacon of success with a perfect A1 in all nine subjects in WASSCE, a remarkable 338 score in Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, and a stellar 1400 in Scholastic Aptitude Test.
It read, “In recognition of her outstanding achievements, VDT Communications presents Omoyeni a prestigious cash scholarship of up to N2.5m for her undergraduate journey.”
While presenting the scholarship award at VDT Headquarters, Lagos, Omoniyi noted that VDT was not only committed to rendering laudable communication services but also celebrated outstanding performance and firmly committed to Corporate Social Responsibility and giving back to society.
“Omoyeni’s brilliance performance continues as she clinches the top spot at Telnet International School, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, in the post-UTME at Covenant University, scores an impressive 58 out of 60 for Computer Engineering.
“She has also secured a coveted spot for preferential internship training with VDT when the time comes.”
