Bazit Yekeen, a student of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, has clinched first place at the 2024 Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology of Nigerian Universities Best Students’ Competition.
Yekeen, a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, competed against top students from over 40 Nigerian universities and emerged victorious due to his exceptional academic performance and innovative thinking.
According to a statement made available to The PUNCH on Monday, the competition took place on August 31, 2024, with students from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and the Federal University of Technology, Akure, securing second and third places, respectively.
In recognition of his achievement, Yekeen was awarded a cash prize of N100,000 and a certificate from the Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology, which is part of the Education and Training Committee of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.
The Vice-Chancellor of AATU, Prof. Adesola Ajayi, expressed pride in Yekeen’s success, highlighting it as a testament to the university’s dedication to producing top-tier graduates who excel both academically and as innovative leaders.
